Congratulations and best wishes to the following pupils, past and present:

Well done to Sean McCarthy, (LC 2012) who represented Ireland in the Junior Rugby World Cup this summer. It was a fantastic display by all the team and a great honour to have Rockwell College represented. Sean captained Rockwell College to Senior Cup victory in March 2012.
Good luck to Andrew Duncan (Third Year) who will travel to the World Transplant Games as part of Team Ireland. Andrew, who recently completed his Junior Certificate examinations, will compete in Squash following his kidney transplant in Temple Street Children’s University Hospital earlier this year. Best of luck Andrew!
Congratulations to Kieran McCarthy (LC 2007) who has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship, one of only 37 across the EU. Kieran will pursue an LLM in Georgetown University. The Fulbright awards are given annually to allow EU students pursue their studies in the top universities in the United States. Kieran, a native of Cahir, Co. Tipperary, is a graduate of UCD and has recently completed a Masters in International Affairs in Paris.

Best of luck to Aoife Walsh, who was crowned Miss Ireland last weekend. Aoife, who attended Rockwell College from 2001-2005, will represent Ireland in the Miss World Finals in September.

Rockwell College pupils joined approximately 50,000 pupils nationally in proudly celebrating their Leaving Certificate achievements last Wednesday, August 15th. Of the 116 pupils who sat their examinations in June,  25% achieved points of 500 or higher, with 10% of pupils exceeding 550 points. Of particular note were the achievements of the three pupils who earned a maximum 600 points in their results. Congratulations to Killian Farrell, from Golden, who was also named "Student of the Year" for 2012 on Prize Day in June. Richard Kennedy, from Tipperary was also celebrating his success, as was Jessie Barlow from Clonmel. Jessie has enjoyed a highly successful year in Rockwell as a member of the Senior Girls’ Hockey team who brought the Munster League and Cup back to Rockwell College. The Principal, Audrey O’Byrne, and Deputy Principal Michael Doyle praised the pupils, commenting on the strong work ethic demonstrated by them during their time at the College.
