Rockwell College was founded in 1864 by the Holy Ghost Congregation as a Catholic Secondary School for boys.

Today the school educates 500 students aged from 12 to 19 years, both boarders and day boarders, boys and girls, with a distinct International dimension. Students come from more than 20 countries worldwide.

Rockwell is situated 7km. from Cashel on the main Dublin-Cork road in Co. Tipperary in the Province of Munster. It is set in acres of wooded grounds and rich farmland along with its own 23 acre lake.

Rockwell College is a Catholic School committed to the development of each students gifts in a Christian community encouraging due emphasis on Intellectual, Spiritual, Social, Cultural and Sporting Activities which enhance growth in self-esteem and self-worth and imbues a concern and care for others, especially the underprivileged in the Holy Ghost tradition of education.

Examination results are important, but equally  important is the way in which Rockwell, in line with Holy Ghost tradition, responds to the students' needs for security and ordered freedom.

Rockwell has many facilities to cater for our students' recreational and personal needs.  Please download our Prospectus to view the facilities we have to offer.

The participation of many enthusiastic staff members and coaching staff ensures that varied extra curricular activities are promoted.  Please click on links above to learn about sports in Rockwell or for information on the other activities available for students.

A Christian concern for others is fostered by liturgical celebrations, fund raising events for charitable causes and involvement of students with local schools catering for handicapped children and adults.

The Boarding School is home to 150 boys and girls, from all year groups and includes both Irish and international students.  This ensures a very unique experience for Rockwell students and provides them with the opportunity to meet people from the four corners of the world.

Everyone is encouraged to communicate with their family and friends over the Internet. Students are also encouraged to use the Internet in their research and studies.  For more information on the computer room and internet access please visit the facilities page.

Each year has a "Dean" who is a senior member of staff.  They are responsible under the Principal for the overall care, health and discipline of the students.  A Dean of Studies, a full time Career Guidance Counsellor, a resident nurse, two community members with counselling qualifications and a Lay Chaplin provide guidance and pastoral care.  The combined efforts of these dedicated members of staff ensure that your son or daughter is personally cared for and that they are both welcomed to, and are made an essential part of the Rockwell community.
