A Great Day for cross country in Marlfield

The annual cross-country meet in Marlfield took place on Wednesday, 16th. November. This is an event which prepares secondary school runners from around South Tipperary for the County Championships which take place around the end of November. Rockwell College was represented very strongly this year, as were teams from the High School, Presentation and the Loreto Convent in Clonmel. The Rockwell teams performed very well, picking up medals in each category they participated in.

Second Year Girls – 2nd placed team – Siobhan Whelan, Katelyn Drohan, Aoife O Leary

Second Year Boys – 2nd placed team – Bob Barton, David Carroll, Ronan O Brien

Senior Boys – 1st placed team - Cian Brannigan, Cathal De Faoite, Robert Kennedy

Senior Boys – 3rd placed team – John O Dwyer, Eoghan Heffernan, Padraig Harrington

Senior Boys ‘B’ – 2nd placed team – Mark Heffernan, Bill Fitzgerald, Ciaran Healy, Shane Maher

Individual runners who performed well included: Charlie Byrne (confined to 1st year) – 2nd place Siobhan Whelan (confined to 2nd Year) – 2nd place Moya Whelan (Senior Girls) – 1st place Cian Brannigan (Senior Boys) – 3rd place.
