Scholarship Programmes at Rockwell College

There are three scholarship opportunities for entrants to Rockwell College: Spiritian Scholarship, Academic Scholarship and the Loschert Scholarship.

Academic Scholarship

We are offering two scholarships based on outstanding academic ability.

The successful candidates will be granted a 50% reduction in Day Boarding Fees.

Scholarship Details:

Each selected candidate will receive a 50% reduction in Day Boarding Fee.

All candidates will be required to complete 50-minute tests in English, Irish and Mathematics. The scholarship recipients will be chosen on the cumulative two best scores of these three exams.

Candidates must sit all three exams. Candidates with a Department of Education Certificate of Exemption from their primary school are exempt from taking the Irish exam. This Certificate must be produced on the night in hard copy. Failure to present this Certificate will render the other two examinations null and void.

Candidates may use Assistive Technology (i.e., a laptop) for the examinations subject to the following:

  • Production on the night of Evidence of Need – this can be an Occupational Therapist’s report indicating 12 WPM or less in handwriting plus confirmation that Assistive Technology is essential, OR an Educational Psychologist’s report indicating 12 WPM or less in handwriting plus a Standardised Score of 85 or below in Spelling.
  • Candidates must bring their own device, fully charged. Responsibility for ensuring the device is charged lies with the candidate.
  • Use of a USB provided by Rockwell College on the night.
  • Exams will be completed using Word.
  • Maths may be taken manually or using Assistive Technology.

Participation Eligibility:

  • The scholarship opportunity is open to both Day and Boarding pupils.
  • Applications accepted from anywhere in Ireland.

Time:

Registration from 5:00 PM (Pre-registration is not required)

Schedule:

  • 5:00 PM: Registration in Main Hall
  • 5:30 PM: Maths Exam (40 minutes)
  • 6:20 PM: English Exam (40 minutes)
  • 7:10 PM: Irish Exam (40 minutes)
  • There will be a 5-minute break between each exam.

Examination Venue and Registration

All participants are required to arrive for registration starting at 5:00 PM in the Main Hall.
Convenient parking is available at the front of the Main Building.

Spiritian Scholarship 2026

Merit-Based Scholarship Opportunity:

The successful candidates will be granted a Full Day Pupil Tuition Scholarship at Rockwell College

Scholarship Details:

  • Exceptional opportunity for a day pupil to join our esteemed institution through an open-application scholarship.
  • This scholarship covers all tuition fees for the entire duration of the recipient's enrolment, extending up to a maximum of six years.

Participation Eligibility:

  • The scholarship opportunity is open to both Day and Boarding pupils.
  • Applications accepted from County Tipperary National Schools.

Circulation of Information:

Detailed information about the scholarship opportunity is distributed to primary schools throughout Tipperary yearly in November.

Applications for 2026 entrants are open until December 12th, 2025.

Loschert Scholarship

The Loschert Scholarship gives pupils of talent the opportunity to avail of a partial alleviation of fees to join Rockwell College in years other than First Year.

Scholarship Details:

The Loschert Scholarship is a fund to support talented pupils who wish to join Rockwell College and require support to do so. The aim of the fund is to ensure that pupils who can derive a benefit from the academic programme of Rockwell College and who have a talent that can contribute to the College community, are assisted. 

The Scholarship will fund a minimum of 30% and a maximum of 50% of the recipient’s fees.

Participation Eligibility:

  • The scholarship opportunity is open to both Day and Boarding pupils.
  • For pupils entering 2nd - 6th year.
  • Applications accepted from anywhere in Ireland.
  • Recipients will be expected to use their talent to contribute positively to the community of Rockwell College.

Please submit a Loschert Scholarship application form. Scholarship application forms must be submitted with the standard Application Form as per the admission policy to Rockwell College.
